Together with the lining, the On Steam textile material is breathable and keeps the interior dry. The sole is lightweight — reduced weight is a requirement at this stage — and flexible in any direction: the foot bends and rotates without resistance, and the non-slip tread provides the friction needed for balance. The reinforced toe resists dragging, and the adjustable closure opens wide to allow the shoe to be put on.
